Lynn Gilderdale, RIP
Dec. 10th, 2008 01:49 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Some of us knew her as Jessie Oliver, her pseudonym here on LJ where she blogged as
_chaotictears_.
Those who met her in real life after she became ill have documented what they saw; a girl who could not speak, who could not move from her bed, her body broken by severe ME and forced into meltdown by the invention of misguided medical professionals. Those with little or no understanding of the critical importance of total rest during the initial stages of sudden-onset, acute ME.
Those of us who knew her online knew a different Lynn. We knew a bright, intelligent and optimistic girl with a lively spirit and a keen sense of humour who always had a kind word of support whenever one of us was feeling low.
Yesterday I discovered I'd lost a dear friend. I know that for Lynn it was the release she had desperately craved. For me and the rest of her friends her passing has left a huge a heart-shaped hole in all our lives.
I've started a Facebook group called 'Friends of Lynn Gilderdale', if you've got a Facebook account please join. If you'd like an email invite from me please drop your email addy in a message to belle_marmotte(at)hotmail.co.uk
Please make sure to put the co.uk NOT com!
As Lynn's mum has been arrested on suspicion of murder I think we need to rally all the support we can for her and her family.

Date: 2008-12-10 08:05 pm (UTC)It's great to finally 'see' you on there. I'll have to get around to uploading a picture. Preferably when I've managed to wash my hair and put on clean pjs!

Date: 2008-12-10 08:42 pm (UTC)sorry for my inadequate response earlier to your lovely and thoughtful post, I don't know what I'm doing at the moment.
I'll send you an invite for the other group. I've found a further one that looks good too, I'm going to join and I'll send you an invite for that one as well.
Thanks. I only take the occasional photo of myself as I hate looking awful and ill.
This keeping clean malarkey takes so much energy when you have M.E. doesn't it. I often think of all the things I could do if I didn't have to wash! Look forward to seeing a photo of you anyway! :o)
